The WEEC seminar tagged ‘Men Standing Up for Women’ was moderated by the duo - Tosyn Bucknor, a Top radio FM presenter and Bolanle Olukanni of Ebonylife TV to discuss with men on matters bordering around women and ways to eradicate the social and economic issues they go through in the society.
A show of support
for the growth and development of women in Nigeria and the rest of Africa, top
professionals from different walks of life recently gathered for the WEECman
2015. The event which was organized by Women Empowerment and Enlightenment Campaign
(WEEC), showcased the best of intellectual discuss and advocacy with Soni
Irabor, Lanre Olusola, Owen Gee and social media expert, Japheth Omojuwa at the
main auditorium, University of Lagos.
It is an advocacy based campaign which gears to encourage
several agents of socialization, groom men, support and give better cultural
and social placement to women.
According to the Head Coordinator,
WEEC, Kayode Odukoya, “Our strategy is to target growing ladies
with the possibilities of catching them young, to educate and prepare them for
later life. Potentially to actualize their economic potentials with a new mindset to
increase productivity. We are saddled with the sole responsibility of helping female
individuals so they can strive to the best in any chosen career.”

The discussions and topics at the Women
Empowerment and Enlightenment Campaign bordered around creativity, intelligence
breeding, creating opportunities, packaging and the need for unique women in
our society. The interactive platform also created an avenue for students (male
and female) from different disciplines to air their views and share uncommon experiences
with top industry players across entertainment, broadcasting and social media to
mention a few.
