World Breast Feeding Week starts today 1st August to 7th August 2012. The slogan for the Nigeria sector is "Feed the Child, Give Breast Milk". It seeks to educate and enlighten women more on the importance of breast feeding to babies and mothers.
Breast
milk contains the right amount of water, sugar, fat and protein the
baby needs. It provides all the nutrients and antibodies the baby
needs.
It's easy to digest.
It helps to fight diseases.
It has no waste products.
It's always at the right temperature.
Breast feeding creates a psychological bond between mother and child.
It reduces risk of osteoporosis.
It reduces the risk of gestational diabetes developing.
It helps the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy state.
It also reduces risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
Pass the word around as we celebrate......go ladies!
