PEAK awards: WEEC sponsors the female entrepreneur of the year award

Miss Abiodun Adegoke (Female entrepreneur of the year)

WEEC (Women Empowerment and Enlightenment Campaign), in its course to raise a generation of female entrepreneurs, organizes programmes with the young ladies in the society at heart, also aligns with other organizations such as the organizers of PEAK awards to support young ladies.  Peak Awards celebrated its 7th edition on Thursday, 6th of December 2012 and this edition, unlike others had a special category in line with women empowerment.

The female entrepreneur of the year was designed to encourage young ladies that have taken the initiative to do business in the midst of the economic downturn and hardship in the country. Instead of doing what young ladies do nowadays for money, there are some that use their intellect and resources to build a financial base for themselves. The female entrepreneur of the year category of this year's PEAK awards was proudly supported by WEEC with a cash price attached to it. PEAK awards and WEEC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding towards future events which is a step in the right direction.

"I pledge to support the course of women empowerment and work closely with WEEC in achieving its long team goals" - Tee Brown CEO PEAK Awards.

"When asked why I have chosen to support women and establish WEEC being a man, I just giggle and say I have a loving mother and three wonderful sisters, why shouldn't I?" - Kayode Odukoya On'y va Concepts Ltd.

A reception was held at the Protea Hotels GRA Ikeja, on Saturday, 15th of December 2012 where Abiodun Adegoke  (The Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2012) was given gifts including her award and the cash price by WEEC coordinators.

Abiodun Adegoke had a more unique concept amongst the very enterprising nominees which no doubt fueled her emergence as the winner. It sounds more like charity work or community work than business. It is still fascinating how she manages to combine all she does. Abiodun Adegoke is a Youth and the CEO of Beez Ideaz Entertainment Company which manages events and organizes youth empowerment programmes. Since the company was established, it has been doing well with "Get Inspired Get Busy" campaign, Fashion outfit "Glam signature" and Arewa Offa, a Pan Kwara State pageant that inspires the young women in line with their culture which is ongoing. (23- 12 - 12).
