Olympics: First American woman to win Gold in Long jump.

Brittney Reese became the first American woman to win Olympic gold in the long jump with a jump of 7.12 meters. She had only two successful jumps but the second attempt was enough to clinch the gold. The two-time world champ pulled off the winning jump on her second attempt, and it was comfortable better than the 7.07 meters that silver medalist Elena Sokolova of Russia pulled off.
